Educational Opportunities Program

Providing unique educational opportunities to local youth and adults. The Educational Opportunities Program is designed to encourage organizations to provide unique and meaningful educational opportunities to both youth and adults. Programs include, but are not limited to:
  • Job training and job readiness programs
  • Adult education programs
  • ESL programs
  • Credit education and home buying seminars
  • Youth enrichment programs
Grant requests of up to $15,000 will be considered.

Selection Criteria
Foundation Directors will review each grant proposal for evidence of the following:
  • Confirmation that the Organization is reasonably financially stable, with no overwhelming threats to continued viability
  • Evidence of experienced leadership, at both the staff and board levels
  • Uniqueness of the program
  • Need of the target population to be served
  • Anticipated impact of the project on its participants
  • Significance of the grant on the organization's ability to implement the project
  • Clear detailing of how results will be measured and communicated, and how success will be defined
Applying for an Educational Opportunities Grant
The Foundation Directors meet semi-annually to review proposals for the Educational Opportunities Program. The proposal deadline and review schedule is as follows:

Proposal Postmarked By: Director Review
March 1, 2009 May 2009
August 1, 2009 October 2009

If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the proposal should be postmarked on the last business day prior to that date.
